Netta Walker

Netta Walker is an actress, model, writer, aspiring director/producer, environmentalist, and social justice advocate. She’s currently best known for her portrayal of Keisha McCalla in All American: Homecoming on The CW. Season 1 is now available on Netflix, followed by season 2, April 2023.

Her theatrical work resulted in winning a Jeff Award for Best Supporting Performance in a play (for a production titled Yen) in 2019, and being named one of Chicago Tribunes "Hot New Faces" in the same year.

In the days Immediately following both of these acknowledgments for her work, she used her voice to bring light to the sexist, sexual, physical, and racist abuse she and many other students faced while pursuing theatrical degrees at Roosevelt University - causing hundreds of students to speak out about their experiences over the 15 years prior to her attending the institution. Ultimately resulting in the university releasing a public statement on its conducting of internal investigations, and multiple news publications reporting on her whistleblowing, forcing the institution to redesign the faculty (ex: https://chicagoreader.com/columns-opinion/roosevelts-revolving-door/). She has since added amplifying the fight to avoid climate catastrophe and pursuit of intersectional environmentalism to her list of things to use her voice to champion, declaring climate change the "most important and horrifying issue in the world today".

Netta has been writing and directing for around 5 years now, and is ready to explore these expansive other facets of herself as an artist, producer, and egalitarian. She believes that there are too many important stories left to be told, and too many voiceless people waiting to be given a voice. She hopes to use whatever artistic voice she can find to help others find theirs.
