Edie McClurg

Edie was born and raised in Kansas City Missouri so she comes by her Midwestern characters legitimately. She began her performing career as Operations Mgr/News Anchor/Producer/Asst. Professor at NPR affiliate KCUR-FM. Her film work includes: "Cars," "Dickie Roberts," "Master of Disguise," "Hanging Up," "A River Runs Through It," "Natural Born Killers," "Ferris Buellers Day Off," "A Bugs Life," "Eating Raoul," "Planes, Trains, & Automobiles," "Shes Having a Baby," "Back to School," "Carrie," and "Elvira. "

Among her many TV appearances are: "CSI," "7th Heaven," "WKRP in Cincinnati," "David Letterman Daytime Show," "Richard Pryor Show," "Bill On His Own," "Pee Wee Herman HBO Special," "Hogan Family," "Mad About You," "Caroline in the City," "Picket Fences," "Seinfeld," "Rosanne," and "Golden Girls." She has appeared in live improv shows at The Groundlings, Sills & Co, Spolin Players, and Second City Alumni Jam. Her one gal shows, "It's Edie in Here" and "Whirly June: A Midwestern Woman." She has also appeared on-stage in "Frankie & Johnny in the Clair de Lune," produced by Tim Busfield and "Never in My Lifetime" at the Hudson Theatre.

Edie studied for three years with Viola Spolin, the Mother of All Improv Games and won Best Actress in the Chicago Alternative Film Festival (1998) portraying Ted Kaczynski's mother.
