Artt Butler

Artt Butler, a Mexican Japanese Los Angeleno, has been in the voice over business since the early 1990s, back in pre-technology days when email was just getting its wings and auditions were still submitted on cassette via FedEx. Artt started in the business directing voice talent on auditions in a talent agency recording studio. His directing experience with top tier voice talent gave him an immersive tutorial in the skills needed to create a successful voice career for himself.

Since crossing over into the talent side with his diverse ethnicity and range of skills, Artt has excelled in all voice genres, particularly in commercials, games and animation. Much of the animation and gaming work remains under NDA’s.

What he can talk about are an eclectic selection of characters: One of his childhood dreams came true when he was cast as everyone's favorite space-fish, the iconic Captain Ackbar in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars.” Artt is the male computer voice in the Oscar winning Spike Jonze film “Her” starring Joaquin Phoenix and Scarlett Johansson. Continuing in the A.I. realm, he was the voice of Ashton Kutcher’s robot Wald-E in the 11th season finale of “Two and a Half Men.” Artt is the villainous sorcerer, Shang Tsung, in three of Warner Bros’ Mortal Kombat films: “Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind”, Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realm” and Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge”. Artt was a series regular in Disney’s “Star vs the Forces of Evil”, as the kind father, Rafael Diaz.

Artt has launched luxury car campaigns and is the longtime spokesperson for several commercial accounts.
